Job Summary:
The Solar Site Engineer is responsible for the execution, supervision, and technical oversight of solar PV projects at site level. This includes managing installations, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring compliance with design, safety, and quality standards for rooftop and ground-mounted solar power systems across Maharashtra.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of solar PV systems (rooftop or utility-scale).
- Ensure work is carried out as per electrical drawings, layout plans, and design specifications.
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Inspect equipment (inverters, modules, cables, mounting structures) for quality and performance.
- Ensure all site work complies with safety and regulatory standards (CEA, MNRE, DISCOM).
- Handle documentation including daily progress reports (DPR), quality checklists, and material records.
- Perform troubleshooting and corrective actions for technical issues on-site.
- Interface with the project manager and design team to ensure project milestones are met.
- Manage on-site manpower and resource planning.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or related engineering fields.
- 2–6 years of experience in solar PV installation, preferably with rooftop or utility-scale projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, solar components, and grid integration.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical SLDs.
- Good knowledge of relevant tools, testing equipment, and safety practices.
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and basic monitoring software.
Preferred:
- Experience working with state/central government solar projects (e.g., MEDA, SECI).
- Familiar with Maharashtra DISCOM approval processes.
- Marathi language proficiency and local site experience preferred.
- Willingness to travel and work in remote project locations.
