Job Summary:
We are looking for a qualified and detail-oriented Solar Site Engineer to oversee the technical execution of solar power projects in Puducherry. The candidate will be responsible for supervising installations, ensuring system design accuracy, maintaining quality control, and coordinating with cross-functional teams on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage on-site installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar PV systems.
- Conduct site assessments, shadow analysis, and load calculations.
- Verify system designs, BOQ (Bill of Quantities), and ensure proper execution as per engineering drawings.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams for timely completion of projects.
- Ensure safety protocols and quality standards are followed throughout project execution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve on-site technical issues related to solar panels, inverters, and other components.
- Maintain project documentation including daily progress reports, site inspection checklists, and commissioning records.
- Assist in testing and performance monitoring of installed systems.
- Liaise with DISCOMs for approvals, net metering, and synchronization activities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in solar PV project execution.
- Strong understanding of solar technology (on-grid, off-grid, hybrid systems).
- Familiarity with electrical wiring standards, safety regulations, and solar equipment.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic AutoCAD/PV design tools (e.g., PVSyst, Helioscope – a plus).
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to lead site teams.
- Effective communication in Tamil and English.
Work Conditions:
- Field role with regular travel to project sites within Puducherry and nearby regions.
- Work involves rooftop and outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
- Must be comfortable with flexible work hours depending on project needs.
