Currently, there’s a prevailing belief that significant investment is required to set up a solar energy system in one’s home. Nevertheless, the Government is actively promoting and facilitating the adoption of solar energy for all.
Though there exists an initial upfront cost, the long-term financial advantages of having a rooftop solar system far outweigh this initial expenditure. The installation of solar panels constitutes a substantial investment, yet financial support from the government serves as a motivating factor, easing the financial burden for investors.
The Government of India has recently standardized the solar subsidy nationwide. Previously, the Chhattisgarh government offered a separate subsidy scheme; however, individuals can now apply for Central Financial Assistance through the PM Surya Ghar scheme.
Who qualifies for solar rooftop installation subsidies:
To be eligible for solar subsidies in Chhattisgarh:
- Panels must be manufactured in India.
- Subsidies are applicable solely for on-grid connections.
- Residential installations and housing societies are eligible for subsidies, while commercial purposes are excluded.
